The fourth of the Beta Maxx Cartridges, Beta Maxx Theft leans into the classic Heist genre of films drawing inspiration from decades of crime heist movies: The Italian Job, Oceans 9 (or any of the series), Set It Off, Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels, Heist, and more (there’s an appendix just for visual media you might want to use as an influence).
Of course, you don’t have to just be boring schmucks surrounded by a boring schmuck world… you can be particularly unusual, and the world around you very literally contains ghosts, goblins (who look a bit like badger people), demons, and people with very odd traits. Plus the usual cast of ‘sell their grandmother’ criminals, drastically corrupt police, and other antagonists.
There are a few big changes under the hood here with a new Crew System which represents your criminal organisation as a whole, which comes to the fore in extended story building and world building.
